Adventures Together in His presence

(What happens when an Australian church moves in Kingdom presence)

Church:

  • It’s not a place where we go.
  • It’s not a building.
  • It’s not a programme.
  • It’s not a denomination.
  • It’s who we are together… in His presence

Welcome to our journey and our conversation.

We are seeking, as a church, to be the very people God uses to fulfill His purposes in our generation.

We are aware that Jesus has said that He would “build His church”.

We will go back to the blue prints to rediscover what and how He is Building and why He invented “church”.

We are confident that God will be present because He promised that when two or three are gathered in His name He would be there. We are excited about the potential difference that the presence of God could make to any gathering and any conversation.

We are aware of our responsibility and commission to proclaim the Kingdom - using Kingdom resources.

How will we do this in 2010?

What kingdom resources are at our disposal?

Our adventure will involve taking a fresh look at familiar bible passages and a fresh look at why we do what we do.

We are seeking to demonstrate and document what happens when people agree together to say “yes” to God and thereby find their voice, their identity and their purpose in God’s Kingdom.

The following chapter headings will serve as guidelines as we discover and write our story.

For this to work well we will need to listen to God and to each other. Every person is important. Every response is important. Personal and group reflections will all need to be added to the mix.

Click on a chapter heading and join us in our adventure.
(each week a new chapter will be filled so come back often and join us in the adventure.)

  1. Why does everything have to be an adventure, Lloyd?
  2. Who are we – together?
(How is the church different from any other group)
  3. What can we expect in His presence?
(Jesus said that when we gather in His name... He will be there)
  4. What is God wanting us to be?
(He is building a “church”. He is building us into a place where He can live by His Spirit. We are God’s chosen, holy, ministers. He wants us to know Him.)
  5. What is God wanting to accomplish through us?
(We are to become a people that reflect His character and glory. We are to play our part in fulfilling His desire to reconcile the whole world.)
  6. How do we hear God?
(How does God communicate to His church today?)
  7. How can we minister to the Lord?
(What can you give to a God that owns everything? How do we offer spiritual sacrifices that please God? 1 Peter 2:5)
  8. How can we minister to each other?
    (Fulfilling the “new” commandment.)
  9. How can we minister to our city, our nation and to the nations?
    (Fulfilling the great commission)
